My original memoir spanned over 200 pages, a rich tapestry of five decades of life. The decision to dramatically reduce its length was a deliberate one, driven by two core goals: to make "The Iron Echo" digestible and accessible for the audience I hope to reach the most—pre-teens and teenagers—and to ensure it remains affordable for them. This careful editing was crucial in creating a powerful narrative that speaks directly to a younger audience, offering lessons and hope without overwhelming detail.
